Vía Verde del Cidacos

The old railway tracks that connected Calahorra with Arnedillo along 34 km. and its 4km. detour from Ariñano station to Préjano. There are two options for this hike:

• Exterior: bordering the town along the Cidacos river (includes stairs)
• Interior: across the well-lit tunnel (650 m.). Recommended for bicycles and those with mobility issues.

The train or “trenillo” as it was popularly known, was used as freight transport (coal from the mines of Préjano and limestone from Arnedillo) and passenger service up until 1966.

It’s been recently restored as Vía Verde, which can be done by foot, bicycle and on horseback.
